City of Bones is the first book of the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. It is a fantasy romance (appropriate 14+) and was beloved enough to be turned into a movie in 2013, then a three season fan favorite streaming series 3 years later. You can still catch the series on Apple TV, Freeform, AmazonPrime, and many more (but not Netflix as of this reading). The books are easy to slip into as they exist in modern time, with the world of the fay and darkworlders coexisting, but unseen by regular folk (mundanes). • Clary, our passionate loyal protagonist, goes to a racy club (that is somehow an All-Ages club) with her best friend, Simon.
