It was the third cut in the Stylistics debut, self-titled album. • The single reached the number 3 spot on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. It also climbed to the number 2 spot on the Billboard R B chart, reached number 13 on the UK Singles chart and it sold over a million copies globally. It received a gold disc award in 1972 and it was the Stylistics’ second gold disc, after “You Are Everything”. • The song was written by Thom Bell and Linda Creed and originally titled Keep Growing Strong . It was first recorded by American actress and singer Connie Stevens in 1970.
