The BNSF Chicago Sub, commonly referred to as the Racetrack, is a triple track mainline that runs from Chicago to Aurora. This famous line is very busy and sees about a hundred trains on a typical weekday, the bulk of which being Metra trains. The Metras are often see running side by side, hence the name Racetrack. • The crossings on this line are all maintained by BNSF, and as such, almost all of them have GS E Bells, with the exception of Harlem Ave. in Berwyn which has a WCH E Bell. All of the bells operate in a unique fashion too, in that they operate from when the signals start, to when the train enters the crossing. I don't recall seeing this on any other line, and as far as I can tell, is exclusive to the Racetrack. Aside from that, the crossings are your typical BNSF style installs, and even a bunch of BN installs still remaining. • 0:00 Central Ave., Western Springs, IL 6/8/19 • 2:36 Grand Ave., Western Springs, IL 10/25/19 • 9:18 Harlem Ave., Berwyn, IL 6/25/19 • 15:18 Highlands Station, Hinsdale, IL 6/8/19 • 19:13 Kensington Ave., La Grange, IL 6/8/19 • 21:32 Lawn Ave., Western Springs, IL 10/25/19 • 27:55 Loomis St., Naperville, IL 10/25/19 • 32:57 Maple Ave., Downers Grove, IL 6/25/19 • 35:57 Monroe St., Hinsdale, IL 10/25/19 • 40:36 Park St., Hinsdale, IL 6/8/19
