Travel to Bern changes perceptions on what a capital city should be. Historically preserved, old Bern is a surprising capital of Switzerland, when many assume it to be Zurich. The Old Town of Bern was declared a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site in 1983 because of the preserved medieval city centre, but it's also a compact space to travel to, full of culture and adventure including floating down the Aare River. • Here's a wrap up of my two days in the city and the around.
