For this week’s DANCE IN CUBA video, we bring you a classic Cha-cha-cha piece, featuring the hottest dancers in Havana, Compañia Ban Rarrá. During our Music and Dance tours in Havana, we work with the premier dance companies and music groups on the island. It’s a special experience for our travelers to study dance with these talented professionals, and then to get to practice with them during evening activities and excursions. Another highlight of the trip is getting to see the dance teachers from the tour perform on stage in a private concert just for us. In this show, Ban Rarrá demonstrated the breadth of Cuban dance, from Cuban-Haitian folkloric styles to popular dances, like this fun Cha-cha-cha piece. • Ban Rarrá is a truly amazing music and dance group with Afro-Cuban and Haitian roots. They are originally from Guantanamo and now based in Havana. Isaias Rojas Ramirez formed Ban Rarrá in 1994 and he continues to be the group's director and choreographer, along with Yaseils Sanchez.
