Fairview Campground right next to McNally's is our favorite RV Camping spot along the Kern River. There are plenty of rainbow trout and lots of fun to be had on this stretch of the Kern River. The road above Kernville to this camp spot is a bit windy, but we take it slow and are able to get a 35 foot diesel motorhome towing an F-150 truck up to the site. There are endless day trips and hikes in this area. So much to do in such a beautifully natural setting. • Campground reservations can be made on recreation.gov at https://www.recreation.gov/camping/ca... and as it's a State Campground the fee is super affordable. (about $30 per night). Spots 13 and 14 are our favorite pull through RV sites as they sit right along the river and allow us the easiest access for the day. • McNally's Restaurant is so good with a full bar and excellent steaks, seafood, and more. Their burger stand is open from 10am to 4pm in the summer and even offers some epic breakfast burritos if you don't feel like frying up bacon at your campsite in the morning. The general store has everything you may need to keep the trip rolling along. You can visit their website for menus and more information at https://johnnymcnallys.com • Fairview Campground at the Kern River is definitely one of our favorite spots to relax and unwind as a family.
