Crevasse rescue practice

Bea helping me refresh my memory rigging up a 3:1 rope system to rescue someone from a crevasse. • Kit used: • 1 7.9mm 30m glacier rope. • 1 Spoc pulley/progress capture device (like a microtraxion) • 1 Petzl Tibloc • 1 60cm sling • 3 locking carabiners • 1 child • 1 wooden post as an anchor! • A second pulley would make this a proper 3:1 system, as it was the rope was running through a carabiner from the tibloc so did have more friction. I usually only carry 1 though and would utilise another from someone else in the team in a real rescue situation (assuming there is more than 2 people in the team, only 1 person has fallen in the crevasse you all have a pulley or microtraxion in your kit. • #glacierrescue • #crevasserescue
