We're diving into how to achieve that cinematic teal and orange look quickly and easily in DaVinci Resolve, using just one node and no LUTs. • 1. Setup: • Add test clips to the timeline in DaVinci Resolve. • Jump to the Color page and switch to the RGB Mixer tab. • 2. Switch to LAB Color Space: • Right-click the node, select Color Space, and choose LAB. • Understand the importance of LAB for color manipulation. • 3A. Adjusting Channels for Teal and Orange Look: • In the blue channel, set the blue output to 0 and the green output to 1. • 3B. Alternative Method for More Orange Focus: • In the RGB Mixer, go to the green output. • Set the green value to 0 and the blue value to 1. • 4. Fine-Tuning: • Switch Preserve Luminance on or off. • Experiment with blue and green channels' values like -1 and 2 for an extreme look, or 0.5 and 0.5 for subtle changes (but keep the sum of the blue and green channels within the output at 1). • Adjust the Key Output of the node in the Key tab to decrease the intensity of the effect. • Thanks for watching and happy editing! • Timestamps: • 00:00 Intro • 00:15 RGB Mixer and LAB color space • 00:39 Why LAB? • 01:06 Method 1 • 01:23 Method 2 • 01:50 Preserve luminance setting • 02:12 Adjust the intensity of the effect
