But the Lakers had come back a very disappointing loss against the Celtics in which Kobe went 0-6 in the 4th while playing on a sore ankle. They lost 4 in a row. Now LA had to face a 37-19 record team in the Dallas Mavericks. • • But in a very uptempo game, the Lakers shot 52%, showing no signs of the team that lost 4 games in a row. In an equal array of an inside and outside game, Kobe had a great all around game with 40 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. Bill Walton's commentary of Kobe Bryant's skill level tells it all as he had many acrobatic plays in the game, including 2 twisting driving layups and a behind the backboard bank shot. He topped the great game off with 10 points in the final 2 minutes and 14 overall 4th quarter points.
