Here I present a novel way to graze cattle and manage pastures for small farms. We graze our 35 head herd of Dexter cattle on 30 acres, and found that mob grazing's cattle loading densities were not working for a small herd moved once per day. This prompted me to create a set of principles I call the No Nonsense grazing method. These principles include keeping cattle on optimum forage during both the grazing season and the winter hay feeding season, building good soil via trampled grass and compost application, and limiting the amount of nutritionally substandard stockpiled forage.
