Syed Ahmed Shah Bokhari, popularly known as Patras Bokhari (1898-1958), was a great writer of wit and humour in Urdu. He was also the Director General of All India Radio. His essays of legendary fame ‘Patras Ke Mazameen’ have been taught in schools and colleges for more than 75 years! • Born in Peshwar, Syed Ahmed Shah Bokhari went on to become the first Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations.
