Jennette McCurdy's second track from her debut EP under Capitol Records Nashville, Not That Far Away and the fifth track from her self-titled album. • It really connects with me alot. I wrote it for my mother and I just really feel like it's a song that really just connects to me and I hope people can kinda view it as an anthem to kinda live by. I really like songs that represent life in general and start your day of on the right foot. -- Jennette • Information: • Stronger was released on August 17. • A minute preview of the song was released in a fan-voted poll that featured samples of six songs. The fans were supposed to vote which one of the six songs should be the first single from her album. Stronger was in the lead most of the time but eventually got beaten by Not That Far Away and became second place. The song has become a favorite to many of Jennette's fans. It is the fourth track on Jennette's album and is also featured on the album Now That's What I Call Music! 35 . The song is an uplifting song, motivating the listeners to hold on even in their toughest times and become stronger. Jennette originally co-wrote the song to her mother who is battling Cancer. • Lyrics Video: • Very Soon! • Written By: • Jennette McCurdy, Blair Daly, Rachel Proctor • Produced By: • Paul Worley • Download Link (iTunes): • http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/jenn... • Personal Review: • The second track from the EP is a little different from the rest of Jennette's songs; it's a lot more dramatic and less catchy. It was my least favorite from the six songs in the fan-voted poll, and I couldn't believe it was constantly #1. And when the EP was released, it was my least played song from it. Until one day I had this sudden feeling of depression and I felt the need to listen to this song over and over. And then I realized why people love it so much. It is now one of my favorite songs by Jennette! Everything in the song is perfect: Jennette sings the verses with so much sadness, like she is helpless to really connect with the listener. And when the chorus hits, she immediately becomes this motivational friend to us, telling us to hold on. Amazing vocals by Jennette through the whole song - she sings it with a lot of emotion, passion, connection and so much power. The music behind the song is good too; I was more entertained by the piano than the rest of the instruments. However, I think that (like Not That Far Away ) the background singers overdo her in the choruses. It's not that they're better - it's just that you can hear them more then you should. Jennette needs to shine in the choruses, let her do the singing and the background singers sing quietly (although I love the part where they sing 'mistreated'). The lyrics in the song are amazing and in a very high level and I'm proud of Jennette because she co-wrote it! You might have to bend, but you're not gonna break -- I love that line (actually the whole bridge). A very, very, VERY powerful song, sometimes I feel like it's my favorite. I think it should be a single maybe or she should film a music video for it cause this song needs to be more popular - more than Not That Far Away (I love the song as well, don't get me wrong). I give this song 4.5/5 Stars!
