Alongside the Mona Lisa, The Last Supper and Lady with an Ermine, the Vitruvian Man belongs to the list of the most notable works by Leonardo Da Vinci – one of the best painter of the Renaissance epoch (he is also known as the Renaissance humanist ideal and an Italian polymath – the master of many trades). • Apart from his scientific research, Da Vinci was fascinated by human anatomy and the Vitruvian Man drawing, which was created around 1490, is a result of his anatomical research. The Vitruvian Man represents the ideal human proportions and Leonardo has written down over 15 of them. • The drawing was meant to be fully proportional, even some of the text below it is written in mirror text. Leonardo was left-handed but had successfully mastered the skill of writing with both hands and in opposite directions. • To learn more about this truly brilliant man, we recommend checking out this video presentation:    • LEONARDO da Vinci: 10 fun facts   pre...   • Additionally you could check out top 10 fun facts about Leonardo. • Here is a brief review of some of them: • the true meaning of other significant painting - the Mona Lisa; • scientific analysis of Da Vinci’s sketches, which were later turned into brilliant inventions; • Leonardo’s family and why he is considered to have no last name; • a small tradition, which involved caged birds; • and many more to come. • Please share your favorite facts about Da Vinci. • Thanks for watching!
