Louis James Alfred Lefébure-Wély (1817-69) was a celebrated French organist who started playing in public at the age of 8 (how could he have reached the pedals?). He is best known today for his popular organ 'Sortie', but 'Les Cloches du Monastére' (The Monastery Bells) was once extremely popular - and even gets a mention in George du Maurier's novel 'Trilby', in which one of the characters plays it. It was requested from me by a YouTube viewer. Structurally it is strange with several musical ideas juxtaposed on the first page. • --------------------------------------- • Played by Phillip Sear • http://www.psear.co.uk (Email: [email protected] • WhatsApp: http://wa.me/441444483794 ) TikTok: / pianogems
