The muscular system allows the human body to move. This movement is both internal and external. The cardiac and smooth muscles are responsible for the movement of internal organs and are involuntary muscles. The skeletal muscles attach to the skeletal system and are voluntary muscles. The brain controls these muscles through conscious thought sent through motor neurons.
