How To Turn On or Turn Off Emergency Alerts on iPhone (iOS) • In this video, I’m going to show you how to turn off the emergency alert notifications that you may be getting on your iPhone or iOS device. • These alerts include Amber Alerts, Emergency, Public Safety, and Test Alerts. There are a few different options here with these too, so we’ll look at those as well. • The first thing you want to do, is from the home screen, open the Settings app. • Inside of settings, scroll down a little here, and then find and choose notifications. • In here, scroll all the way to the bottom. Depending on how much stuff you have on your device, you could have a lot to scroll through. • Down at the bottom, you’ll then see your emergency alert notification settings under the section called Government Alerts. • The first is AMBER Alerts. This is child abduction or missing alerts. After that you have the general emergency, public safety, and then test alerts. These are issued by your country or regions governments, include threats to safety or lives, or extreme weather. And generally, unless it says otherwise, are localized to where you’re located. • To turn off all alerts inside of here, just go through and toggle the slider on the right to off. • Emergency alerts though gives you a couple options. Inside of here, you can leave emergency alerts turned on, but can turn off the sound as a second option. What this means, if you have your phone on silent, you’ll get an on-screen alert, but won’t get that panic inducing alert sound we’re looking at turning off. • Make your choices inside of here, and you’re good to go. • And in the future if you ever want to turn these back on, you can just come back inside of the notification’s menu inside of settings, and turn them back on. • And that’s how you turn on or off emergency alerts on an iPhone or iOS device. • Thanks for watching!
