Klockwerk Orange - Abrakadabra (Austria 1975 prog) • The hippie days were just beginning to flourish, when the schoolboy Hermann Delago founded the rock band Klockwerk Orange with three friends. The band name was derived from the orange drums of the drummer Wolfi Bock ( klocken means good ). In addition: Markus Wak Weiler at the keyboards and Guntram Burtscher at the E-Bass. Delago played the electric guitar (beside the trumpet and the keyboard) - like a high priest of the new Tyrolese progressive rock, wrapped up in a robe-like white robe. • At Zams, we were tested at home in Zams, said Delago. Proberaum has developed into a meeting place for the regional hippie generation ... Long hair, flower power and the aroma of particularly aromatic smoking goods lay in the air , When Eley Craig and Isaiah, Exeption, Genesis, El P, Pink Floyd, and King Crimson were offered their own color sound , which was based on what the time offered for the good, loud and psychedelic. I myself was banned between Bruckner symphonies, neo-romanticism and typical rock music of the 70s, recalls Delago. • We have exclusively played our own music, he emphasized, it was not songs, but composed works of a longer duration ... . Weiler, at that time a music student in Innsbruck, and Delago, the musical ideas, Bock and Burtscher provided the rhythmic background. The Synthesizer played an important role in the mainly instrumental sound - a new instrument of this time. • Klockwerk Orange performed at around 20 concerts in the whole of Tyrol, to which the fans made a pilgrimage with the Schlafsack. The sound was played on the stage between light and smoke (technician was Roland Bock, then an electrician apprentice, today he lives as a freelance artist in Vienna, he designed the cover for Delago's CD Gado Gado ). Everything was exciting - including the fact that you recorded your own track record, which bore the title of Abracadabra and was pre-financed by the guys with a stately 18,000 schillings themselves. 15 instruments, including 6 keyboards, were used - the complex pieces bore names such as DuonyunohedeR and The Key . (Incidentally, the LP was recorded by a certain Franz Koch in Elbigenalp, it was one of his first productions. Today, he is leading a world group with Koch-Records and KDG). • Delago laughs: At that time as a gymnasium student to take music lessons a rock LP was pretty cool, I brought my own, which was of course quite special .... • Track Listings • 1.
