A video tutorial on how to unlock and open a 2020 - 2023 Mazda CX-5 that has has a dead battery. • If your Mazda CX-5 has a dead battery, you will need to use the emergency mechanical auxiliary key from your smart key fob in order to unlock and open your CX 5. To take out the auxiliary mechanical key, push the release button and slide the back cover off of your remote key fob, then take the key out. Once the drivers door to your CX-5 is unlocked and opened you can pop the hood in order to charge or replace your vehicle's battery.
