History of Siberia The First Peoples

The history of Siberia begins with a group called the Ancient North Eurasians and they came to settle from the Eastern European steppes to the far East of Siberia and Beringia. The first peoples of Siberia were incredible survivalists. Our ancestors conquered Siberia in winter and today it is the coldest place on Earth that humans continuously inhabit. They pushed the human body to the limit and conquered the arctic, becoming the first indigenous Siberians. They are ancestors to many groups across the world, including most Europeans and the first wave of Native Americans. They endured bitter cold by making the first fitted clothing by using a bone needle and animal sinew. They also built the first artificial dwellings, both stationary and nomadic as the temperatures of these lands were far too cold to sleep in the open air as these places lacked natural protections such as caves. Siberia and Eastern Europe lacked precipitation during this time and so ice sheets were unable to form so this made the land suitable for vegetation and animals and so the Ancient North Eurasians were able to thrive in their frozen home. They were smaller bands who formed alliances to guarantee resources and make marriage arrangements, gathering in locations that may have supported up to fifty families. The ice age reached its last glacial maximum around 24-20,000 years ago and they dispersed into more hospitable lands. However a new group, more similar to East Asians settled these arctic lands after temperatures had warmed.
