A remarkable, emotionally charged, and excrutiatingly beautiful passionate rendition. Not a single fault or place that’s lacking and he captures all this emotion in this extremely important Liszt piece, the best in his Harmonies Poets Series. Here, he is playing with his heart and it’s beautiful how the piano sings so well especially the bass. I thought Hough’s was unmatchable but now this is my favourite. I listened to his B minor first, automatically my top 5 pianists, now this I’m convinced he is a genius.
