In this Video Lecture, Professor Fink describes the 3 classes of Corticosteroids (Mineralocorticoids, Adrenal Androgens Glucocorticosteroids). Emphasis is placed on the physiological actions of the endogenous Glucocorticosteroids (such as Cortisol) and the pharmacological uses of synthetic Glucocorticosteroids (such as prednisone, triamcinolone, fluticasone, etc). The principal adverse effects are described (including hyperglucocorticosteroidism: Cushing's Disease Cushing's Syndrome).
