World of Tanks Sturmtiger Mixed Reality Experience

Wargaming partnered with the Tank Museum at Bovington at Tankfest 2017 to complete the missing tank from the new Tiger Collection: the legendary and ultra-rare Sturmtiger. Using Microsoft HoloLens and Google Tango next-gen augmented reality (AR) technology, we created a portal in the wall to the Prokhorovka map, through which rolls the classic WoT Sturmtiger model, at which point it disassembles, fires in slow motion, sheds off slices of armor for comparison, and other visualizations. Created by Wargaming Special Projects as part of our continuing series of projects at the intersection of new media and heritage storytelling.
