Avoidant personality disorder also abbreviated as AVPD is a type of personality disorder in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (Fifth Edition) (DSM-V). This disorder is characterized by patterns of social withdrawal, inadequacy, and fear of criticism.
