What's up Everyone Welcome back to the channel! Swapping the stock hemi Throttle body with a Moe’s performance 87mm Ported Throttle body on a hemi is so easy, you can even do it on a cold winter day! • Hemi Throttle Position Calibration Relearn: • • Dodge Challenger Hemi Throttle Positi... • Alright so the Tools of the trade for today are: • 8mm Socket • Ratchet Extension • 3/8 Torque wrench (Optional) • Flat head screwdriver • 1) Alright let's get it. First thing to do is to pop the hood and locate the throttle body at the front of the hemi attached to the Intake manifold and Air Intake tube. • 2) Next let's carefully disconnect the plastic throttle body control motor plug. • 3) Now let's loosen the Air intake tube clamps with our flat head screwdriver and remove the air intake tube with the air intake sensor still attached, and slide that baby to the side to access the throttle body. • 4) After that with the throttle body disconnected and free from the air intake tube lets remove the 4 - 8mm throttle body screws. You can keep a hand on the throttle body screws while you are unscrewing as we dont want the screws falling down into the engine bay, that would be extra work for us to recover. • 5) Before totally removing the last 4th screw, put some pressure on the screw with the 8mm socket and use your other hand to hold and remove the throttle body from the intake. • 6) Once the throttle body is dislodged manifold, move the throttle body and screw away to a safe location as we dont want to drop anything into the bottom of the engine bay. • 7) Sweet now that we have the OEM throttle body off let's grab our new sweet Moe 87mm Ported throttle body and hold it into position on the intake manifold and screw the screws by hand. • 8) Next while still holding the throttle body in position with one hand, use your other hand to use the 8mm socket and ratchet to fasten the 8mm screws until they are snug tight into the intake manifold. • 9) Now because the Intake manifold is plastic you may want to use a torque wrench to torque the 8mm screws at 105 Inch pounds. • 10) After that lets clip in our throttle body sensor connection and install our Air box intake tube and fasten down our clamps. • 11) Once we have the new throttle body installed go ahead and re-calibrate the throttle body! Hit the link in the description or comments below for instructions on how to do it! • 12) Finally let's clean up and start the Mopar, let it run for a minute and make sure no check engine lights come on and we find the engine running smoothly! • • Congratulations you have now installed your ported throttle body! This Process is similar for the 6.1 and 5.7 Hemi engines !
