The Fruska Gora mountain is a natural geological phenomenon, as it is built from the rocks from almost all geological periods. • It used to be an island during the existence of the Pannonian Sea. To the north, the Danube river is the border, while to the south it descends into the Syrmian lowlands. • It has length of approximately 80 km (50 mi) from east to west, and 15 km (9.3 mi) from north to south. • Its highest peak is Crveni Čot at 539 m (1,768ft). • A national park Fruska Gora was declared in 1960 and covers an area of 266.72 km2 (102.98 sq mi).
