Corsa Sport Exhaust SystemsBut we add all the camping and overlanding gear we have planned for our project S71 Silverado, we need to add a bit more power to carry it all. • Our 2021 Silverado came from the Chevy factory with GM’s 5.3 liter EcoTec V8, good for about 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. While that’s really good, we knew there was room for improvement. And we knew of a few easy upgrades that can deliver some solid performance gains. In this case, we turned to the intake and exhaust experts at Corsa. • We started our upgrades under the hood where we installed a Corsa Performance Closed Box DryTech 3-D Intake System. The kit uses less-restrictive intake tubing with special shielding that fights off ambient heat to feed the Silverado’s engine with a cool, dense charge of air. Corsa says this particular Closed Box DryTech 3-D Intake System can provide up to 11 additional horsepower and 11 pound-feet of torque over the stock airbox. • To complement the Corsa intake, we gave our Silverado a Corsa Sport Exhaust System. Designed as a cat-back setup, this Corsa kit features three-inch stainless tubing with mandrel bends. That allows the Silverado’s engine exhale up to 57 percent better, which according to Corsa, can deliver up to 17 more horsepower and 15 more pound-feet of torque. And better yet, it’ll give this Silverado a nice, drone-free exhaust note. • What about the installation process?
