I could describe what happened to the VCR, but it would not be beneficial to put in a video description. I just decided to toss that out, as fixing this VCR would not be worth the trouble. • I had ordered a JVC HR-S3500U on Christmas Day and received it on January 6th. It was advertised as fully functioning, with a BRAND NEW S-Video cable included. When I plugged it in, the power supply made a very high-pitched noise (similar to a dog whistle), and it did NOT power on. After multiple plug-ins, the transistor, the fuse, and another component on the power supply blew at the same time. Right now, it is at a VCR repair center (yes, I was just as surprised that those still exist as you are right now) and it should be ready for use within the next month or so... • Well then, how did I transfer all of this, you may ask? The university I go to has a music building, which has a resource center, which, if you can believe it, has a JVC SR-VS30 S-VHS/DV VCR. Yes, this is going at around $500-600 on eBay right now, and my school has this beast of a machine! • As for the future of my VHS uploads as of this video, I have no choice but to take a bit of a hiatus until I can be able to get my JVC VCR back from the repair shop, which could be within the next few weeks, even up to a month. Hopefully all of you can understand these circumstances. • Until then, I'll see you soon! • ~ bd • P.S. Don't worry, I've still got 6 more TiVo DVD's to go through, so that may take the place of the VHS encodes for a little while.
