Watch as our Hilti experts demonstrate the use of the PS 1000 X-Scan system, a high-performance scanner for detecting rebar, live wires, cables and tendons in concrete structures. Offering high-level accuracy and detection capabilities, the system can localise objects up to a maximum depth of 400 mm and provide visual 2D or 3D images/representations of these objects to the operator. One of its key advantages over other scanners is its ability to detect, localise and map out multiple layers in concrete structures. It is, therefore, an ideal solution for reducing the risk of hitting rebar and other hidden objects in concrete when drilling anchor holes or through holes, breaking out openings, and in diamond coring and cutting work. It can also detect rebar extensions, voids and cavities, and is particularly useful for inspecting floors, slabs, decks and other structures in buildings and other major infrastructure. As the video shows, the PS 1000 X-scan automatically generates real-time images of the inside of concrete, enabling immediate evaluation.
