Ever wondered how meteorology data is obtained? In this live stream Mark VK5QI will show us radiosonde tracking using weather balloons and how amateur radio is involved. • A radiosonde is a battery-powered telemetry instrument carried into the atmosphere usually by a weather balloon that measures various atmospheric parameters and transmits them by radio to a ground receiver. • Radiosondes are an essential source of data for meteorology, and hundreds are launched all over the world daily. • VK5QI is also a member of Project Horus. Project Horus is an amateur high altitude balloon project based in Adelaide, Australia. The aim of the project is to build and fly low cost weather balloon payloads into the stratosphere, capturing photographs, recording sensor data and providing a reliable launch platform for high altitude experiments. • https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radiosonde • http://www.projecthorus.org/ • https://www.areg.org.au/ • http://www.earc.org.au:82/EARC/ • ✅ Subscribe to Ham Radio DX! https://bit.ly/2lvUGsD • 🎥 Watch our most recent videos here:    / hamradiodx   • If you enjoyed this video help others enjoy it by adding captions in your language - http://www.youtube.com/timedtext_cs_p... • #AmateurRadio #Radiosonde #WeatherBalloon • http://hamradiodx.net • Ham Radio DX on Facebook:   / vk7hh   • Ham Radio DX on Twitter:   / hamradiodx   • Ham Radio DX on Instagram:   / hamradiodx   • • If you enjoy this content and would like to support this channel, please consider using the below Affiliate Link for purchases: • eBay: https://ebay.to/2LVvhFE • Prices do not change for you, but this channel will receive a small commission on all sales.
