The original 1986 Watchmen comic by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons introduced the world to Rorschach, Dr. Manhattan, Nite Owl, Silk Spectre, and Ozymandias. Since then there's been multiple spin-offs and adaptations including Before Watchmen, the 2009 Zack Snyder movie, the sequel Doomsday Clock and of course the new Damon Lindelof series on HBO.
