Newark Ohio Fire Department 2 Alarm Commercial Structure Fire Incident Command with Audio

On May 28, 2018 at 0811 hours, Newark Fire Department responded to a report of a commercial structure fire at Granville Milling Company at 145 N. Cedar Street. The building consists of three buildings connected together that has a drive-thru bay, supplying various feed supplies. You can see the Google view here https://www.google.com/maps/place/Gra... • The building was closed due to it being Memorial Day. Heavy smoke was noted upon arrival of fire units. The initial commercial assignment was 4 engines, 2 ladders, 3 medic units, and battalion chief. A fourth medic and battalion chief also responded with personnel that was just getting off-duty. A second alarm was requested, bringing an additional 4 engines and 2 ladders. • The fire was located in the south building and mostly involved bagged feed material on racks. The fire was contained with two 2.5 inch blitz lines and two 1.75 inch attack lines. One cat perished in the fire as well as undetermined number of chickens.
