Niccolò Paganini’s 24 Caprices for solo violin is perhaps the most famous piece by the early Romantic Italian composer, and among the most well-known pieces of all Western classical music in general. Each Caprice, like an étude, exploited and pushed to the limit a different set of skills. When the Caprices were first released, Paganini dedicated the composition to “all artists” rather than any particular person.
