Her resolve is rock solid. Consequently, a silkie Hen may very well be the BEST sort of hen for hatching eggs with a high percentage of success. • They are very broody by nature and make excellent mothers, meaning most of the time you won't need an artificial brooder or lights. • A Silkie is the perfect incubator for hatching a small number of eggs, whether you want additional Silkies, other hens, or even ducks. • When a Silkie is broody, it's simple to tell since she won't leave her nesting box and may even cluck at you if you approach too near. You may coax a Silkie into broodiness by inserting unfertilized or rubber fake eggs in her nesting place. These can be found at any reputable pet shop or poultry center. When you realize your Silkie is in the brooding mood, you may give her some fertilized eggs to incubate. • Your broody Silkie won't need much help. Just make sure to Protect her from the cold and the rain. She will go out once a day to feed, but you should keep an eye on this since a Silkie may get so broody that she forgets to eat and drink. You should encourage her to get up and get some food and water if she isn't doing so already. Move her off the eggs carefully; she may make some noise, but after she's off, she'll go get some food and drink and return to her seat. She will normally sit back, so you shouldn't worry, but if she doesn't, then you'll need to get the eggs into an incubator ASAP. However, this rarely occurs! If she doesn't get up and feed herself after this, keep repeating this process once a day until she does. It can take up to 21 days for the piping to begin. • 📺 Watch the entire video for more information! • _________________________________________________________________ • About Silkie Chicken Rewind • 🎥 Videos about Silkie Chickens en Silkie Chicken news • 🎨 Written, voiced and produced by Silkie Chicken Rewind • 🔔 Subscribe now for more Silkie Chicken videos • Watch More from Silkie Chicken Rewind • ___________________________________________ • 💼 Business Inquiries and Contact • • For business inquiries, copyright matters or other inquiries please contact us at: [email protected] • ❓ Copyright Questions • • If you have any copyright questions or issues you can contact us at [email protected]. • ⚠️ Copyright Disclaimers • • We use images and content in accordance with the YouTube Fair Use copyright guidelines • • Section 107 of the U.S. Copyright Act states: “Notwithstanding the provisions of sections 106 and 106A, the fair use of a copyrighted work, including such use by reproduction in copies or phonorecords or by any other means specified by that section, for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship, or research, is not an infringement of copyright.” • • This video could contain certain copyrighted video clips, pictures, or photographs that were not specifically authorized to be used by the copyright holder(s), but which we believe in good faith are protected by federal law and the fair use doctrine for one or more of the reasons noted above.
