This actual test is filmed up close with the roll feeding system exposed to show off how the desiccants (or oxygen absorbers) are automatically fed with perfect tension under complete control from the spool, over top of the inserting machine, and down the front for the cut and insert into a bottle, typically an oral solid dosage form bottle for vitamins, supplements, or pharmaceuticals. • The action is shown through the clear, safety panel, which is included as standard. Also shown in the video but invisible to the human eye, the PS1 Packserter features a proprietary Cut Length Sensor System that automatically verifies each packet has been properly fed from the strip before allowing the packet to be cut. If the Cut Length Sensor System detects an error in the feed then it automatically stops the process and alerts the operator to resolve the issue via the touch-screen HMI and optional stack light. • To demonstrate how cleanly the pneumatic cutting system separates the packets from the strip, the operator performing the test pulls several cut desiccants up to the camera eye. The smooth, precise cutting prevents rips, tears and messy spillage. When viewed up close, the holes punched in the packet seams can be easily seen, though the machine for inserting desiccants also works with packets without any holes, and with or without print registration marks. • What's not shown? When the blade is ready for replacement, the entire cutting unit can be removed without any contact with the blade for superior worker safety. The Packserter is shown with the roll feeding system exposed for visibility, but it is offered with an optional, clear, full safety guard enclosure to prevent contact with the strip.
