Riders compete in numerous age and capacity classes, with events running over two days. Each race day is split into timed stages and special stages and raced as a time trial against the clock, featuring an enduro test, a motocross test, and an extreme test. • • Initially known as the FIM European Enduro Championship when it was first contested back in 1968, the series then became known as the FIM World Enduro Championship from 1990. From 2004, riders were split into three classes – Enduro1, Enduro2, and Enduro3 – depending on their machine’s engine capacity.
