Litlington Level Crossing, Litlington, Cambridgeshire • Date filmed: 27/05/2020 • Route: The Cambridge Line • Between Royston and Ashwell Morden Stations. • Location: Royston Road, Litlington • Trains: • Lowering 1 (Starts at 0:12): • Class 66 (GBRF) The Cemex Express - 1:05 • Lowering 2 (Starts at 2:00): • Class 700 (Thameslink) - 2:33 • Half barrier level crossing located just outside of Royston, with twin-arm half barriers. Each barrier unit has a loud alarm fitted to the back of it, and both alarms here are incredibly faulty, since one goes into producing a flat tone, with the other producing a very fast and faulty tone. What's also notable about this particular level crossing, is that the alarms here cut out later than usual - around half way into the sequence, due to a faulty relay, which is something that has always been characteristic about this level crossing, which is very busy with trains. • Two lowerings are featured in this video. In the first lowering, a GBRF class 66 in a unique livery passes by at speed towards Cambridge. • The flat-tone alarm has since had its sounder replaced with a working one. • Thanks for watching!
