Time Switch Sangamo Weston S317122 Rate Changer Timeswitch

For this time switch video, I have a rather much sought-after rate-changer timeswitch so that I can pair it up with my S309.2 meter. • The switching capacity of this is 80A. • Rate change trigger contact is 2A. • This one is also driven by a synchro motor, so this timeswitch is reliant on a 50Hz alternation frequency. • I obtained this one straight out of service and as such, it says South Eastern Electricity Board (SEEB) on it. • Now, unlike a standard 24-hour on/off timeswitch, this one operates a bit differently, and because of this, it has an odd-number of switching togs. • With the S317.1.22, it triggers the off-peak tariff some time before the off-peak loads are switched. • With the OFF tog however, it turns the tariff and loads off at the same time. • Upon receiving this timeswitch, adjustments were needed to the main contact set, as it was not operating correctly. • A bit later on, Sangamo introduced the Quartz equivalents of these and they were the Q-345 and Q-346 rate changers. • ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- • The Q-346 is already on this channel.
