Typical car wash soaps and shampoos contain a level of glossifiers which help make the vehicle look shiney. Matte surfaces are not meant to be shiney, so these types of soaps can actually leave water spots and/ or distort the matte appearance. • In addition, matte surfaces cannot be fixed if damaged. Special care needs to be provided with matte paint. As you may have seen in other big name detailing videos, matte paint cannot be polished if scratched.
