Let's look at the stoichiometry for the reaction of 14 grams of nitrogen(N₂) and 6 grams of hydrogen(H₂) to form 6.8 grams of ammonia (NH₃), known as the Haber-Bosch process. • From the question we know that N2 + H2 are the reactants that form NH3, the product. However when we write this(N2 + H2 → NH3) there are not equal numbers of each element on both sides of the equation, violating the conservation of mass. We have to add coefficients to each side to balance it. The Balanced Chemical Equation is: N2 + 3H2 → 2NH3 • To see a full example of a stoichiometric calculation click the attached video at the bottom of the screen. • For more cool explanations of chemistry check out my playlist: • Interesting Chemistry In Our Lives | ... • #nocollegeneeded #science #chemistry #chemistryrocks #ncn #generalchemistry #collegechemistry #chemistrytips #chemistryhelp #stemeducation #education #stem #learning #scienceexplained #sciencefacts #shorts • #stoichiometry • #mole • #avogadro • #reactants • #products • #conservation • #molarmass • #equation • #yield • #moleconcept • #avogadronumber • #chemicalreactions • #conservationofmass • #molarmass • #balancedequation • #limitingreactant • #percentyield
