The United States won the first-ever world championships mixed relay. They finished in a world record time of 3:09.34. Allyson Felix ran the second leg for the U.S. • You know, it was just a lot of hard work, overcoming a lot of adversity, a lot of complications. In a year where my health was in jeopardy, my daughter’s health, it really puts things into perspective and just a lot of gratitude to just even be on this stage in any capacity. • The win is Felix’s 12th gold medal at the World Championships. She passes Usain Bolt for most career medals at the event. • I don’t really look at it that way. For me it’s nice to be back on the stage. • Michael Cherry ran the anchor leg.
