Though wasn't really expecting a better result than the 8 Dbi Antenna, but the 4 DBi failed both tasks. • 1. Connect to more local hotspots than the 8 DBi Antenna - Failed • 2. Connect to more hotspots in general - Long shot but still - Failed • Recommendations: • 1. Before buying a higher gain antenna, use HotspotRf to simulate the number of hotspots your miner will witness (https://hotspotrf.com/?v=79cba1185463 ) - you get a free trial. Though results are inflated, I would personally take 40% off the results from witnesses in HotspotsRF for a better picture of what the number of witnesses could potentially be. • 2. Note that you will probably witness more hotspots the higher your miner/antenna so try moving your miner to higher ground before buying a higher gain antenna and especially true if you're in the city/suburb and are surrounded by some few miners. • 3. A 4DBi antenna will probably see more witnesses at an elevation of 10meters compared to an 8 Dbi antenna with an elevation of 5meters(Again in a city/suburb). • 4.
