January 13-15, 2017 • Every January in the central Philippines city of Cebu, 1.5 to 3 million people gather to celebrate the Feast of the Santo Niño — the Holy Child — of Cebu. • Beginning with a novena of masses in early January, festivities in Cebu ramp up for the Sinulog Grand parade the third Sunday of the month. They include a fluvial procession; a re-enactment of the 16th century baptism, wedding, and first Mass of King Humabon and Hara Humamay, when Santo Niño and Catholicism arrived in Cebu; a solemn procession through the streets, and rousing sinulog celebrations at masses outside the basilica. • Learn more, and view photos and videos at: https://www.catholicsandcultures.org/... • This video is part of Catholics Cultures, an initiative of the Rev.
