A child of the Great Depression, Cathy developed his business sense at a young age, selling Coca-Colas and newspapers. He started his first restaurant, The Dwarf Grill, after World War Two and began the Chick-fil-A chain in 1967, specializing in his own invention - the chicken sandwich. Today there are more than 1,250 Chick-fil-As around the country. A devout Christian, Cathy has always believed in ethics in business, the importance of family and in giving back.
