In this episode, Linkara reviews a GOOD comic about Batman on Christmas! • http://atopthefourthwall.com • Originally uploaded December 24th, 2012. • ORIGINAL INFO: Tonight you shall be haunted by another adaptation of “A Christmas Carol,” except this one’s really damn good. • RUMINATIONS: Behold, Linkara: ruiner of Christmas. • Seriously, it says something when the most heartwarming Christmas moment I had up until that point was Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, of all things. Christmas on Atop the Fourth Wall seems to be about how much death and tears can be wrung out of people and this episode was no different. • Originally, I had hoped to have the event be even more surreal, with several of my family and extended family members in funeral garb around the tombstone for a few shots, but the holidays are a busy time, so of course that didn’t end up happening, either. As I said last time, one of the inspirations for this was an episode of Scrubs, which my dad (who of course reprised his role as future Linkara [and technically reprised his role as the ghost of Christmas future, as well]) was confused by why I didn’t use the same music for it. Of course, aside from the fact that I try not to wear my inspirations THAT much on my sleeve, copyright issues and all that. I’d been trying to move away from copyrighted music for a while. • But yeah, many tears and sadness were had, followed up by me singing… aaand of course nobody on youtube can hear that singing due to even the COVER getting flagged. I could fight it, but I don’t really have a license for that cover, so whatcha gonna do? • The story itself is about moving on. That’s what we all have to do, eventually – the future lies before us and eventually you have to let go of what came before, the people we were, and try to live for the kind of person we want to be. And, you know, maybe not be a dickish ghost who forgets to send your stuff after you go with them from your hotel room.
