A visit to Pioneertown, CA, named after the western musical group The Sons of the Pioneers .. Built in 1946 as a western movie set (with adjacent motel to house crew members working on films and TV series) by Roy Rogers and Gene Autry, it was the location where the Judge Roy Bean and the Cisco Kid TV series were often shot. • • The Pioneertown Posse performs western skits. In the included skit, a cowboy is seen carrying a pouch of gold or silver as he escorts his lady from the Pioneertown Bath House west on Mane Street. Another cowboy passes the couple heading east, but fails to show good manners by a tip his hat to the lady.
