The building's old-school charm (like the stained-glass windows) is married to top-notch modern amenities (like a brand-new sound system). The Memorial Opera House presents Broadway musicals and plays, national musical acts, live comedy, and a lunchtime cabaret series once a month. On the National Register of Historic Places, the handsome Memorial Opera House was built in 1893 by the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) as a memorial to the county's Civil War veterans.
