We made a death or glory mission from Niseko up to Asahidake in January as the winds looked very strong in Niseko. The gamble paid off and we were rewarded with the deepest and driest snow I've ever come across. We spent a day skiing in the forests below the volcano and then had a good weather window to ascend to the peak on another day.
