Wool is also obtained from animals like yak, rabbit, and goat. • • The fleece of sheep is removed, washed and spun into woollen threads. • • Woollen thread is knitted to make woollen fabrics like sweaters, shawls, etc. • Silk • • We get silk from silkworms. • • The silkworm makes a cocoon around itself. • • We get silk from the cocoons. • • Silk threads are woven to make silk cloth. Silk cloth is stitched into clothes. • Cotton, wool and silk are natural fibres. • Fibres like rayon, polyester and nylon are made, in factories, using chemicals.
