Using a place value chart, place a flat in the ones column. Regroup the flat as ten rods in the tenths column. Notice that each tenth is 1/10 of a one. • Now regroup a rod as ten small cubes in the hundredths column to see 1 hundredth is 1/10 of a tenth (or 1/100 of a one). Remove 1 hundredths rod.
