What is Urodynamic Test? • Urodynamic studies (UDS) are a group of tests that are used to evaluate how well the parts of the lower urinary tract (urine bladder, urethra and sphincters) work to store, hold and release urine steadily and completely. It also shows the reason behind the leakage or blockage of urine. • Why is the Urodynamic Study done? • A urodynamic study is used to determine the problems with your lower urinary tract. A doctor recommends you UDS if you are having the problems such as: • Leakage of urine • Controlling of urine • Week flow of urine • The strong or sudden urge for urine. • Feel pain while urinating • Getting UTI (Urine Tract Infection) frequently • Unable to empty the bladder. • Intermittent (Stopping and Starting) flow of urine • What is the procedure for the Urodynamic Study? • The radiologist will explain the procedure in detail. • How does one prepare for a Urodynamic Study? • It doesn’t involve special preparation.
